Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday urged youngsters, especially Gen-Z, of the state to remain vigilant against what he described as ‘external forces’and ‘invisible enemies’ which could mislead the younger generation.Addressing a gathering during the launch of the statewide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in Bhubaneswar, Majhi said, “In today’s digital age, certain external forces, invisible enemies, misuse of social media and influence of drugs are actively attempting to mislead the younger generation. Such conspiratorial forces would never succeed in their designs as long as young people remain alert and committed to the nation.” He urged the youth not to fall into such traps and to put patriotism first.“You are the inheritors of the legacy of Veer Surendra Sai, Bhagat Singh, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Laxman Naik. No external force or invisible enemy can ever weaken your spirit or resolve,” he told the Gen-Z.Majhi launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in Bhubaneswar on Sunday, marking August Kranti Diwas and appealed to people across the state to hoist the national flag at their homes, schools, offices, villages, panchayats and urban areas till Aug 17.He added, “Odisha’s role would be decisive in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat 2047. The contribution of the state’s farmers, workers, youth and self-reliant women would help the state emerge as a major engine of India’s economic and industrial growth.”He also appealed to people to honour, with pride, the families of brave soldiers and police personnel engaged in protecting the country on the occasion of Independence Day.“The Tiranga is not merely a combination of three colours but represents the self-respect, pride and aspirations of 140 crore Indians. Saffron symbolises courage and sacrifice, white peace and truth and green prosperity, while the Ashoka Chakra represents the duty to keep moving forward,” he said.Calling for an environment-friendly celebration, Majhi urged people to shun plastic flags and use only cloth ones during the campaign.A colourful Tiranga Yatra was organised in the capital as part of the launch. Students from schools and colleges, scouts and guides and NCC and NSS volunteers participated in the procession carrying the tricolour. Cultural groups from different parts of Odisha presented traditional folk dances and art forms.Deputy CMs Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, ministers Suresh Pujari, Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Nityananda Gond and Suryabanshi Suraj were among those present at the event. International sportspersons Pramod Bhagat, Anupama Swain, Sunil Pradhan, Ravi Kumar and Kamala Kanta Nayak were among the prominent participants.
