Patna: A case has been registered against the head teacher of a govt school in Banka district following an allegation of sexual harassment involving a Class XI student.The student’s mother approached a police station on Thursday evening and submitted a written complaint seeking action against the head teacher Vikas Kumar. Police said they have registered a case based on the complaint and begun an investigation.According to the complaint, the student, a minor, had gone to school on Thursday after the 45-year-old head teacher had allegedly called her on the pretext of completing her registration. The student alleged that while she was leaving the head teacher’s room, he attempted to misbehave with her.The student’s mother alleged in her complaint that the teacher attempted to hold her daughter from behind with an improper intention. The student managed to get away and returned home, where she narrated the incident to her family, she alleged.Following this, her mother reached the police station and submitted the complaint.SHO Chandan Kumar confirmed that a case had been registered on the basis of the student’s mother’s complaint. He said, “Police were investigating the allegations.”TOI made attempts to contact the head teacher Vikas for his comments on the allegations made by the student. However, he did not answer either of the two calls made to his mobile phone.Police said further action will be taken on the basis of the findings of the investigation.
