Gurgaon: A 25-year-old labourer died and four others were injured after a canter rammed into a tractor-trolley from behind on the Dwarka Expressway flyover on Friday night.The driver, Mobin, a resident of Bharatpur, Rajasthan, who abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot was arrested later on Saturday.The deceased, Vimlesh, was a resident of Sirohi village in Faridabad and worked at a concrete mixing plant in the Dhankot area. Police said he came to Gurgaon two weeks ago in search of work.The victims were returning to Dhankot after finishing work at a construction site in Sector 99 when the accident took place. The group had been working as labourers and were staying on rent in the area.Police said three people were sitting in the trolley while others were travelling with the tractor when the canter hit the vehicle from behind.The impact of the collision threw one of the passengers, Vimlesh, off the flyover. According to police, the flyover was approximately 30 to 35 feet high. Vimlesh suffered severe injuries in the fall and died during treatment at a hospital.“The canter hit the tractor-trolley from behind, due to which one of the passengers fell from the flyover. He was immediately taken for treatment but succumbed to his injuries,” a police officer said. Four injured passengers were rushed to a hospital and are currently undergoing treatment.“We have seized the canter, and a case has been registered against the driver under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (death by negligence), and further investigation is underway,” the officer added.
