Gurgaon: A dispute over dumping garbage in Basai Enclave 2 turned violent on Thursday evening, leaving a woman injured after she was allegedly dragged by her hair and assaulted with sticks during a clash between two neighbouring families.The injured woman, Nisha, was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.According to police, the altercation began when a woman allegedly dumped garbage outside Nisha’s house. When Nisha objected, an argument broke out, following which women from the neighbouring family joined the confrontation.“The injured woman was attacked by a group of women who surrounded Nisha. A man also hit her with a stick, while another woman grabbed her by the hair and threw her onto the road outside the house,” a police officer said.Nisha’s family alleged that she was also kicked repeatedly while lying on the ground.Hearing the commotion, Nisha’s relatives rushed out of the house. A family member attempted to intervene, after which more members from both sides gathered at the spot. The clash continued for some time before the women were separated.Police said CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained and is being examined. Investigators are verifying the sequence of events and the role of all those involved.A case is being registered at Sector 10 police station under relevant sections of the BNS.
