Jaipur: A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death in Jaipur’s Vidyadhar Nagar after an old money dispute allegedly culminated in a planned attack, with police arresting three men on Tuesday and probing the role of other suspects. The victim’s elder brother, who had been called to the spot for a purported settlement, was also injured.The deceased was identified as Shakir Deshwali. He was rushed to Sawai Man Singh Hospital in a critical condition after suffering a serious stab wound and died during treatment around 2.30 am on Tuesday due to excessive blood loss, Additional DCP Bajrang Singh Shekhawat said.DCP (North) Karan Sharma identified the arrested accused as Mohammed Farid alias Fardu Chacha (37), Shah Rukh (32) and Dilshad alias Dhillu (40). Police said Farid is a history-sheeter of Bhatta Basti police station and that several criminal cases had previously been registered against the three.According to police, the attack took place around 11.30 pm on Monday near Mandir Mod. Shakir’s elder brother, Qayyum, had been called there on the pretext of resolving an old financial dispute. He initially went alone but called Shakir after finding several men gathered at the spot.Police said Qayyum and the accused had exchanged abuses during an argument over the same dispute three or four days earlier. Investigators suspect Dilshad subsequently planned the attack and allegedly arranged for the brothers to be brought to the spot.According to the preliminary investigation, Dilshad allegedly first brought Rafiq to Mandir Mod and then called Qayyum there on the pretext of settling the dispute. When Qayyum called his younger brother, the accused allegedly attacked the two with knives.Shakir suffered a serious stab wound and collapsed. Qayyum was also injured in the assault.Following registration of the case, police formed separate teams and examined CCTV footage from around the crime scene, questioned residents and analysed technical evidence. Intelligence inputs and the CCTV trail subsequently helped investigators identify the three accused, police said.Police are now trying to trace the remaining suspects and establish their individual roles in the attack. Investigators are also examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged conspiracy and the earlier dispute between the two sides.
