Patna: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Saturday postponed the 72nd Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination, which was scheduled to be held on July 26, citing “unavoidable reasons”. The commission said a fresh date for the examination would be announced later.In a notification, BPSC examination controller Rajesh Kumar Singh said, “The Integrated 72nd Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination, which was scheduled to be held on July 26, 2026, has been postponed due to unavoidable reasons. The new date for the examination will be announced shortly by the Commission.”The examination is conducted to recruit graduates to various state services, including the posts of sub-divisional magistrate, deputy superintendent of police and other administrative positions.The test was earlier scheduled to be held from noon to 2pm on July 26, while admit cards were to be issued on Saturday. However, the commission announced the postponement without specifying any reason.Candidates have been advised to regularly check the BPSC website for updates on the revised schedule.On June 19, BPSC had declared the results of the 70th Combined Competitive Examination, recommending 2,027 candidates for appointment to various state services.
