Summer has filled Goa with colour, as bougainvillea, frangipani and golden shower bloom along Portuguese compounds, while gulmohar trees set the streets alight with red flowers. The Goan model, Joanne da Cunha, shared her floral memories from childhood as she posed for us. “As a child, I’d spend hours in our neighbourhood garden, nose-deep in blossoms, inhaling the sweet scent of the blooms. I’d make wreaths from fallen flowers, and my friends and I would play hide-and-seek among the hedges,” she recalled, her eyes lighting up with nostalgia. “Even now, the scent of flowers takes me right back. I’m making the most of blossom season, letting the colours and fragrance fill me with the same joy those childhood days bring,” she added.
