Patna: Unidentified scooter-borne miscreants hurled a sutli bomb (country-made bomb) at the official residence of Dinesh Chandra Rai, vice-chancellor of Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU), in the University police station area of Muzaffarpur on Sunday night. No one was injured in the attack.The bomb exploded near the security guard’s room close to the VC’s residence. On receiving information, City SP Mohibullah Ansari reached the spot with police personnel, while a forensic team collected samples to ascertain the intensity and nature of the explosive.Confirming the incident, Muzaffarpur SSP Kantesh Kumar Mishra said two unidentified criminals on a scooter carried out the attack around 10.30pm. “There has been no loss of life or property. CCTV footage from the area is being examined to trace the accused. Preliminary investigation suggests the involvement of anti-social elements linked to the varsity. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the suspects,” he added.
