Bokaro: A Panchakarma centre in Bokaro is likely to become operational within a month, with the district administration deciding to run the facility through the public-private partnership (PPP) model.The decision was taken at a meeting of the District Ayush Committee chaired by deputy commissioner Ajay Nath Jha on Monday. Reviewing Ayush services and healthcare infrastructure in the district, Jha directed district Ayush officer to prepare a proposal for operating the Panchakarma building under the PPP model and submit it through deputy development commissioner.DC also asked civil surgeon AB Prasad to expedite steps for making the burn unit functional. Officials were directed to identify two acres of land for a proposed health cottage at a location with good road connectivity and easy public access.The committee reviewed security arrangements at the 10-bed Maharshi Charak Hospital and discussed engaging security personnel through an outsourcing agency.To strengthen outreach, Jha directed officials to conduct Vayu Mitra activities in all blocks and expand access to Ayush-based healthcare services. He also instructed yoga centres to regularly share photographs of their activities with district authorities and the public relations department.“The administration has also decided to intensify camp-based Ayush services, with special health camps for senior citizens to be organised during the third week of every month at all Ayushman Arogya Mandirs,” DC said.
