Bokaro: Two motorcycle-borne youths allegedly snatched a gold chain from a Sector 2 resident near Jain Mandir in Sector 2C under City police station limits on Sunday morning and fled the spot.The incident came less than 24 hours after three women were targeted in separate chain-snatching cases in Giridih on Saturday evening, raising concern over the movement of motorcycle-borne snatchers in the two urban centres.According to police, the Bokaro victim, Abhishek Yadav, was near Jain Mandir when two youths on a motorcycle approached him, snatched his gold chain and sped away. People nearby raised an alarm, but the accused managed to escape.City police reached the spot soon after the incident and examined CCTV footage from nearby areas.Giridih SP Bimal Kumar has formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the cases. Police said CCTV footage indicated that the same motorcycle gang may have been involved in at least two of the incidents.“The team is investigating the cases. The search for the suspects has been intensified. All the criminals will be caught very soon,” a Giridih police officer said.On July 2, Bokaro police had busted a chain-snatching gang operating across Bokaro, Dhanbad, Giridih, Ramgarh, Odisha and West Bengal.
