Ranchi: Private carrier IndiGo has announced the launch of direct flights between Deoghar and Guwahati in Assam from Aug.Two flights will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays, strengthening connectivity between northeast and the spiritual destination in Jharkhand, from Aug 4, the airline said in a statement on Saturday.The flight from Guwahati to Deoghar (6E 7709) will take off at 9:25 am and land in Deoghar at 11:20 am. The return flight (6E 7710) will take off from Deoghar at 11:40 am and reach Guwahati at 1:35 pm. The airline will operate an ATR-72 aircraft on the route, which has the capacity to accommodate 78 passengers.“Home to the revered Baba Baidyanath Dham Jyotirlinga, the city attracts millions of devotees each year and is steadily emerging as a key tourism centre in eastern India. The addition of Guwahati — an important regional hub for commerce, education and tourism, and the gateway to northeast India — will not only enhance connectivity for pilgrims and tourists but also help foster greater economic and cultural exchange between the two regions,” the statement added.IndiGo is the only airline connecting Deoghar, with direct flights to Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, it claimed, adding that customers can plan and book their travel through the official website (www.goindigo.in), mobile app or authorised travel partners.
