Kanpur: The body of a 30-year-old doctor BAMS doctor who allegedly jumped into the Yamuna river in Auraiya was recovered on Thursday morning during an SDRF-led search operation.The deceased, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri, had jumped into the river around 5pm on Wednesday. Before taking the extreme step, he uploaded two videos on Instagram. In the purported video, he blamed SP Singh, a private hospital operator, his son-in-law Sarvesh Singh, and two others for driving him to it.He alleged that Sarvesh Singh had physically assaulted him some time ago after he requested a change of room.“When my request for a room change was not accepted, I started shifting my belongings myself. During this, he abused me, slapped me and pressed my neck. If I die by suicide, Sarvesh Singh, his son and Gaurav Singh should be held responsible,” the deceased said in the video.He also alleged that he had lodged a complaint at Auraiya Kotwali police station, but was pressured into a compromise by the SHO and that the matter was subsequently brushed under the carpet.In the second video, he appealed to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for justice.The deceased’s wife alleged that the accused harboured an old grudge against her husband and were responsible for his death.SP Abhishek Bharti said the body had been sent for postmortem and that a case had been registered against the hospital owner and the other men named in the family’s written complaint.He added that SP Singh had been arrested and that further investigation was underway.
