Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur Mahanagar unit of BJP organised a grand ‘Tiranga Yatra’ on Sunday, honouring the sacrifices of freedom fighters and seeking to inspire patriotism and national unity among citizens.The procession started from Sakchi Aambagan Ground, moved through key Sakchi streets and culminated at the JNAC office roundabout, where participants sang the national anthem. Hundreds marched with the Tricolour, raising slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram,” as the area remained charged with patriotic fervour.BJP workers were joined by intellectuals, social workers and residents from different parts of the city. Waving national flags, they turned the route into a sea of saffron, white and green.Former Jharkhand chief minister Raghubar Das, Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato, Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu and BJP state spokesperson Abhay Singh were among the prominent leaders who took part. Before the march was flagged off, leaders paid tributes to national heroes at Aambagan Ground.Addressing the gathering, Das said the Tricolour represented the pride, honour and glory of the nation, adding that the Tiranga Yatra was not merely a political or ceremonial event but a powerful symbol of India’s unity, integrity and national spirit.Mahato said the programme was part of a broader series of patriotic activities across the country to remember freedom fighters’ sacrifices and reinforce national unity.Several senior BJP Jamshedpur Mahanagar office-bearers attended. Organisers said the yatra also aimed to connect younger generations with the sacrifices and ideals of India’s historic freedom struggle.
