Ranchi: BJP on Monday lodged a complaint at Argora police station seeking the identification and arrest of those allegedly involved in the desecration of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s statue at a park in Harmu on Sunday.BJP Harmu mandal president Indrajit Kumar Yadav submitted the complaint in the presence of senior party functionaries, including former Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash. Yadav alleged that miscreants had smeared oil on the statue and scratched it with a sharp object, triggering anger among party workers and supporters.Prakash said Mukherjee was a prominent leader who represented the BJP’s ideology and had sacrificed his life for the unity of the country. He said the incident had deeply hurt party workers.State BJP president Aditya Sahu condemned the alleged act, calling it unfortunate and unacceptable. Party workers urged police to identify the accused swiftly and ensure the statue is restored respectfully.
