Jamshedpur: Former chief minister Arjun Munda has raised concern over unchecked construction around the ecologically sensitive Dalma hills, warning that it could disrupt wildlife corridors and intensify human-elephant conflict. Addressing the media, Munda said Dalma was vital for elephant movement and development must not undermine ecological balance. He alleged that high-rise buildings and commercial conversion of agricultural land were changing the area’s character and blocking natural routes. Munda also questioned land-use changes in scheduled areas such as Dobo and Kapali, saying approvals must comply with the CNT Act and Fifth Schedule. He sought a review, probe, cancellation of illegal permissions and action against unauthorised constructions.
