Jaipur: Amid growing discontent over ticket distribution and reports of rebels joining the race, BJP national general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh Friday asked party workers to support the party’s candidates, irrespective of their perceived strength. He also called for greater involvement of MPs in the urban local body election campaign.Santosh took feedback from state president Madan Rathore, state in charge Radha Mohan Das Agarwal, central workers handling the civic polls and members of the election management committee.The issue of MPs’ participation also came up, with a senior worker from Shekhawati pointing out that “MPs are not fully active” in the civic polls. The meeting subsequently stressed the need to increase their involvement in the campaign.Santosh’s visit assumes significance as BJP faces dissent in several areas following a controversy over ticket distribution, with some party workers and aspirants entering the contest as rebels.
