Gurgaon: A 19-year-old man died on Monday, two days after his bicycle was hit by a speeding motorcycle in the Kherki Daula area.Ajay Kumar, a resident of Basai village, was returning home from Manesar on March 28 evening when a motorcycle, allegedly being driven rashly and at high speed, hit his bicycle.Police said two persons were riding the motorcycle and the rider also sustained serious injuries in the accident.Ajay suffered multiple injuries, including a critical head injury, and was taken to Silver Streak Hospital. He was later shifted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, where he succumbed to his injuries on March 30.Police said they received information about the injured cyclist from Silver Streak Hospital on March 28.Based on a complaint filed by Ajay’s uncle, Lalbabu Vishwakarma, on March 30 and medical records, police registered a case under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS at Kherki Daula police station.“While Ajay died, the biker remains unconscious and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The victim’s family was informed and the body was handed over to them after autopsy on Tuesday,” an officer said.Ajay is survived by his parents and three sisters.
