Hazaribag: A Bihar man was among the two persons arrested from the Padma outpost area on Saturday night on charges of transporting 732 bottles of spurious Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in a four-wheeler to Bihar, police said.The accused have been identified as Eso Becktsman Murthy of Jamshedpur and Guddu Alam of Motihari in Bihar, both in their thirties.Hazaribag SP Aman Kumar said, “Acting on a tip-off around 9 pm on Friday that spurious IMFL was being sent to Bihar in an SUV, bearing registration number JH10J-7960, a police team began vehicle checking near the Padma OP gate.”“The occupants of a suspicious SUV allegedly tried to flee but were intercepted. A search led to the recovery of 33 cartons of the liquor. Of these, 28 cartons contained 672 bottles of 375 ml each, while five cartons contained 60 bottles of 750 ml each.”The arrested accused revealed that the liquor was headed for Bihar. Both were arrested and sent to judicial custody. The SUV was also seized, police added.
