Patna: The head teacher of a govt school in Banka district was arrested on Friday following an allegation of sexual harassment involving a Class XI student. Police had filed a complaint against him under Pocso Act on Thursday.The student’s mother approached a police station on Thursday evening and submitted a written complaint seeking action against the head teacher Vikas Kumar. Police said they have registered a case against the head teacher under Pocso Act based on the complaint and begun an investigation.According to the complaint, the student, a minor, had gone to school on Thursday after the 45-year-old head teacher had allegedly called her on the pretext of completing her registration. The student alleged that while she was leaving the head teacher’s room, he attempted to misbehave with her.The student’s mother alleged in her complaint that the teacher attempted to hold her daughter from behind with an improper intention. The student managed to get away and returned home, where she narrated the incident to her family, she alleged.SHO Chandan Kumar confirmed that the head teacher Vikas was arrested after a case was registered against him on the basis of the student’s mother’s complaint. He said, “The case was filed under Pocso Act.”Police said further action will be taken on the basis of the findings of the investigation.
