Ahmedabad: A 24-year-old entrepreneur and her mother are allegedly being harassed online using their doctored images with obscene captions. The woman, who runs an online cosmetics business, on Monday filed a complaint with Cybercrime police alleging that an unidentified person uploaded nudes of her and her 45-year-old mother on multiple social media platforms. The harassment, she said, has continued since Dec.The accused allegedly created several fake profiles on Instagram and YouTube using the victim’s photographs as display pictures. The complainant stated that AI tools have been used to morph her and her mother’s images into explicit content which has been circulated online with obscene captions.The woman, also a student, stated she first came across a fake Instagram account with a name resembling her’s and her photo as the profile pictur. “I found that my photos were being misused, and morphed obscene images and videos of me and my mother were uploaded to defame us,” she stated in her complaint. She further alleged that multiple fake accounts were created to repeatedly target and harass her, despite earlier attempts to get the content removed. The content was also uploaded on a YouTube channel.Police officials confirmed that a complaint has been registered and digital evidence, including screenshots and links, has been submitted by the victim. “We are tracing the origin of these accounts and analyzing technical details to identify the accused,” an officer from the cybercrime unit said.
