Ahmedabad: After two days of red alert, the city remained cloudy, cool, and humid on Saturday. The rain clouds over the state are also likely to loosen their grip from Sunday, according to the Met department.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin said the well-marked low pressure area responsible for the wet spell was likely to weaken and move towards south Rajasthan during the next 24 hours. However, a monsoon trough and an offshore trough remained active and could continue to bring rain to parts of Gujarat.No heavy-rain warning has been issued for the state from Monday, although light to moderate rain may continue in some areas.

Ahmedabad received 8mm of rain till 8pm on Saturday. The city remained under an overcast sky for most of Saturday, keeping the daytime temperature below normal. The maximum temperature settled at 28.2°C, 3.7 degrees below normal.The minimum temperature was 25.6°C, close to the seasonal normal. Relative humidity remained above 85% through the day, adding to the muggy conditions.Within Ahmedabad district, Viramgam received 27mm, while Sanand and Dhandhuka recorded 15mm each. Daskroi received 8mm, and Gandhinagar city recorded 10mm.Rainfall was widespread across Gujarat, with 252 of the state’s 268 talukas, about 94%, recording at least 1mm.
