Ahmedabad: A 45-year-old man was found dead inside a parked SUV on the outskirts of the city on Thursday evening. The body was recovered from the vehicle parked in an open plot along Science City Road in the Sola area.The deceased was identified as a share market trader Harshad Prajapati from Shela. Locals alerted police after spotting a man lying motionless in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. A team from Sola police station found the vehicle locked, with the man slumped inside. Upon opening the car, officers confirmed that the man was dead. Police later identified the deceased as a resident of Shela village. Officers said there were no visible injury marks on the body, and nothing suspicious was found either inside the vehicle or on the deceased. “The body has been sent for a postmortem examination, and preliminary findings suggest a possible heart attack,” said Sola police inspector K N Bhukan. He added that investigators are working to establish how the man reached the location, who owns the vehicle, and whether he met anyone before he died. The scene of death drew large crowds from nearby residential areas, with onlookers gathering as police conducted initial inquiries. The vehicle was parked in an isolated open plot near residential bungalows, raising questions about the circumstances leading to the man’s presence there. This is the second case in a week of a body found inside a car in the city. An accidental death case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. == Woman, 85, found dead near pond Ahmedabad: On Friday morning, the body of an 85-year-old woman was found near a pond along the Sarkhej-Dholka Road. Sarkhej police inspector L L Chavda said locals noticed the body lying near the waterbody around 7am and informed police. A team from the Sarkhej police station reached the spot and took custody of the body before sending it for a postmortem examination. Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased, Samu Parmar, had been suffering from mental health issues for some time. Family members told police that she left home around 4am without informing anyone. “Prima facie, it appears to be a case of accidental drowning,” a police officer said. “However, the exact cause of death will be confirmed by the postmortem examination.” No external injury marks were found on the body, and there were no signs of foul play at the scene, police said. The area around the pond has limited lighting and security. Police have registered a case of accidental death and are awaiting forensic findings. === 60-year-old dies after surviving accident Ahmedabad: A 60-year-old man, identified as Amrut Kosti, was found dead near a temple in Ramol after reportedly being involved in an accident at a petrol pump where he worked. According to locals, Kosti was taken to hospital. Cops said Kosti returned stating that he was fine and his condition was not serious. Hours later, Kosti was found dead, raising suspicion that the earlier petrol pump accident may have led to his death. Initially, he was found lying near the petrol pump. Ramol police inspector V D Mori said police are investigating all angles. “If the accident is established, traffic police will be asked to register a case,” he said. “At present, we have filed a case of accidental death.”
