T’puram: After nearly two years on the run, a man wanted in an attempt-to-murder case was arrested at Nedumbassery airport after arriving in Kerala from abroad. Suresh alias Bappu, a native of Kallambalam, was taken into custody on Saturday based on a lookout circular (LOC) issued against him. He was brought to Thiruvananthapuram and recorded his arrest.The case dates back to Dec 31, 2023, when four youths were allegedly attacked at Njarayilkonam in Kudavoor village. According to police, Suresh and his associates were drinking in a public place and creating a nuisance at night. When locals questioned them, the accused allegedly attacked them out of enmity.The police said Suresh allegedly used a machete to attack Shameer, Maju, Muhsin and Krishnaprasad, causing serious injuries to their heads and faces.Kallambalam Police registered the case under IPC Sections 324 (causing hurt with a dangerous weapon) and 307 (attempt to murder).The police also seized the weapon allegedly used in the attack during the investigation.The second and third accused, identified as Pradeep and Ansari, were arrested earlier. However, Suresh allegedly fled the country and had been working as a welder abroad. With his whereabouts outside India, police issued an LOC to facilitate his arrest if he returned.Acting on the LOC, police detained Suresh when he landed at Nedumbassery airport and subsequently placed him under arrest.The arrest was made under the direction Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP Prashanth Kani. A team led by Varkala DySP P V Ramesh Kumar and Kallambalam SHO Deepu D and his team made the arrest.
