T’puram: A 70-year-old man was found dead with his throat slit at his residence at Mullarankode under Ottur grama panchayat on Friday.The deceased Rajendrababu had been living alone at the house.The incident came to light around 11am when neighbours noticed Rajendrababu sitting on a chair inside the house in a pool of blood. Alarmed by the sight, they alerted other residents and rushed him to Parippally Medical College Hospital. However, doctors could not save him.Kallambalam Police reached the spot and conducted a detailed inspection. A sharp blade was recovered from the room where Rajendrababu was found.As the exact circumstances leading to the death remained unclear, forensic and fingerprint experts were called to the scene.The police said they were examining all possible angles to ascertain whether Rajendrababu died by suicide or whether there was any foul play.
