Madhubani: In response to circulating rumours of fuel shortages, the district administration released a public advisory, reassuring citizens that petrol and diesel supplies in the district remain normal with no shortage of any kind.The notice discouraged panic buying or hoarding, especially highlighting the dangers of storing or transporting fuel in unauthorised containers.The release added that the citizens are requested to ignore rumours and continue using fuel as usual.The advisory also draws attention to the relevant laws, such as Petroleum Act, 1934 (Sections 3, 4 & 5) and Petroleum Rules, 2002 which strictly regulate the storage, transport, and handling of petroleum products.The administration has appealed to all residents to rely solely on official information and maintain calm and responsible behaviour. “Your patience and responsible conduct will help ensure safety of everyone,” the notice said.The administration has also assured continuous monitoring to maintain smooth fuel distribution in the district.Meanwhile, on Sunday last several fuel stations in the town were either shut or not supplying petrol, leading to an impression of possible shortage gaining ground.Lalan Sharma of village Malangia said on Sunday petrol was available only at a fuel station in Laheriaganj which also stopped refilling bikes and cars by afternoon.
