Vadodara: Dahod police on Monday arrested 13 people for their alleged involvement in stone-pelting during a World Tribal Day rally near Muval crossing. Police said 10 of those arrested are office-bearers and workers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).According to police, one of the accused, Krishna Charel, is the AAP state vice-president of its media cell.Four policemen, including a sub-inspector, were injured in the stone-pelting incident on Sunday. Police said a group participating in the rally allegedly blocked the road using DJ systems, resulting in a traffic jam.When police tried to clear the road, some AAP workers who were participating in the rally allegedly refused to move. The accused subsequently pelted stones at the police, forcing cops to fire 10 tear-gas shells to disperse the crowd.AAP leaders, however, denied the allegations, claiming that their workers were not involved and alleged that the incident was part of a conspiracy to defame the party.Dahod police have registered an FIR against 14 people for rioting and criminal intimidation.
