Vadodara: Cyber Crime police filed a complaint against a woman who had been posting videos about alleged drug deals in the city for the last few days. The special operations group (SOG) registered a case against Tamanna Saiyed for publishing misinformation through electronic means. She and her husband were arrested by police in a separate case, for alleged loansharking.Saiyed, a resident of Fatehgunj, had posted several videos on her social media accounts alleging that drug and liquor business was happening in various parts of the city. Her videos went viral after which many citizens demanded police action against drug dealers. According to police, SOG formed several teams and investigated the sites mentioned in the videos posted by Saiyed.Police said they didn’t find anyone selling narcotics or other illegal substances in those areas. The complaint says that when the SOG sleuths tried to contact Saiyed and get more information from her, she didn’t co-operate. This is the second FIR against Saiyed in the last two days.JP Road police filed an FIR against Saiyed and her husband Sohail for allegedly extorting high interest on a loan to one Arif Sheikh. Sheikh told police that he had borrowed Rs 3 lakh from Sohail two years ago at a high interest rate.Sheikh said he paid back the loan and interest, amounting to Rs 12 lakh. He alleged that the accused kept demanding more money from him. Sheikh also alleged that Saiyed threatened to defame him online by making a video portraying him as a drug dealer.
