Bokaro: Two men were arrested after CISF personnel caught a group allegedly stealing copper scrap inside the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) premises, police said on Sunday. The action led to the recovery of 480 kg of copper cable worth around Rs 5.76 lakh.According to DSP city Rajeev Ranjan, around 8-10 people were allegedly found stealing copper scrap from inside the plant boundary. On seeing the security personnel, the suspects fled, but two of them were chased and caught.They had entered the steel plant by scaling the boundary wall.“The arrested men were identified as Vishal Mahli (25), a resident of Tupkadih and Sanatan Munda (32), of Modidih. Based on their disclosures, CISF recovered 480 kg of copper cable worth around Rs 5.76 lakh,” said DSP.A case was registered at the Bokaro police station. Both accused were produced before the court and sent to judicial custody. Police are investigating the involvement of other suspects in the alleged theft.
