Chandigarh: Haryana development and panchayat minister Krishan Lal Panwar on Friday said the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant in Yamunanagar has two units of 2×300 MW capacity and its ash handling system is functioning smoothly.The minister was replying to a question during the ongoing budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
Panwar said that in the case of the Panipat thermal plant, a nearby village located close to Shree Cement and the ash dyke had reported issues of ash falling in the area. In view of this, the process to shift the village was initiated. He said 407 plots will be allotted during a programme on Saturday to relocate the affected families.The minister added that in Yamunanagar district, Ratanpura village is located around 8 km from the ash dyke of the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant. Since the ash generated from the plant is mixed with water and disposed of in the ash dump, there is no proposal to shift the village.Committees formed to sort out PPP issuesHaryana social justice and empowerment minister Krishan Kumar Bedi said that to resolve any kind of problems related to pension, a committee was formed at the district level under the leadership of an additional deputy commissioner. Any type of issue related to pension, such as age limit, PPP, residence certificate, or any other matter, can be submitted as a complaint to this committee, and the decision will be taken by the committee itself, he said.PM Rahat Yojna for accident victimsHaryana health minister Arti Singh Rao said Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘PM Rahat Yojana’ for victims of road accidents, under which accident victims will receive cashless treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh. The minister was respondeng to a question.Subsidy for local jobs hikedHaryana industries and commerce minister Rao Narbir Singh said to promote industrial development in the state and to ensure 75% employment for youths belonging to Haryana in industries, the previous govt enacted a law. Under this law, industries providing employment are given an employment subsidy of Rs 48,000 per employee per year. Chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, in his Budget Speech for 2026–27, announced an increase in this subsidy to Rs 1 lakh.2 bills introduced During the budget session of the Haryana assembly on Friday, two bills were introduced. The bills introduced include Haryana Registration and Regulation of Travel Agents (Amendment) Bill and the Haryana Extension Lecturers and Guest Lecturers (Security of Service) Amendment Bill.
