Patiala: Two people were killed and several others injured in a road accident involving a tipper truck, a private bus and a motorcycle on the Nabha–Amloh main road near Lubana village in Patiala district on Friday morning.According to preliminary reports, the deceased were motorcycle riders and residents of Lubana village. They died on the spot following the collision.

Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred amid the morning fog, which significantly reduced visibility on the road. The driver of the speeding tipper reportedly tried to avoid hitting the motorcycle but lost control of the vehicle, leading to a head-on collision with an oncoming private bus.The impact of the crash was severe, leaving the front portions of both the bus and the tipper extensively damaged.Upon receiving news of the accident, local residents gathered at the scene after announcements were made through the village gurdwara. Villagers assisted in rescue efforts and used JCB machines and tractors to pull out passengers trapped inside the vehicles.Inspector Jaswinder Singh, station house officer (SHO) at Sadar Nabha, said that two died in the accident, while 18 passengers, including the drivers of the tipper and the bus, sustained serious injuries in the incident.
