Jamshedpur: The state govt has added 40 new SUVs to the East Singhbhum district police fleet to strengthen law and order, patrolling and emergency response.SSP Ehtesham Waqarib flagged off the vehicles at the police centre in Golmuri on Tuesday after inspecting them and issuing instructions to drivers and police personnel on their use and deployment.Department officials said police stations and field officers had long needed fresh vehicles for routine patrols and faster response during emergencies. The SUVs will be deployed across urban and rural areas, with a focus on improving security arrangements, highway patrolling and coverage of remote and sensitive locations.The addition is expected to boost police mobility, improve efficiency and help maintain a stronger field presence during incidents. Senior officials from the district administration and police department attended the flag-off ceremony.
