Gurgaon: Four men were arrested on Friday for allegedly assaulting a man and threatening to kill him following a dispute over a road accident on Aug 16.According to the complainant, Pradeep (30), his uncle’s Scorpio had collided with an unknown truck near a petrol pump on Naurangpur Road on Aug 16. Later, when Pradeep and his friend took the damaged car for repair to a denting workshop in Sector 12, five to six men attacked and threatened to kill him. He sustained serious injuries in the assault and was taken to a nearby hospital.Pradeep approached the police on Aug 22 and registered an assault case at Sector 14 police station.Police arrested the accused — Praveen (23), Karan (24) and Ajay (23), all residents of Bar Gujjar, Gurgaon, and Vinod (26), a resident of Sarai village in Nuh district — on Friday. The accused work as security guards and drivers with private companies, police said. The motorcycle allegedly used in the assault has also been seized.“Police investigation revealed that the complainant and his associates had allegedly abused Praveen’s father, who was driving the truck involved in the Aug 16 collision. Later, Praveen and his associates assaulted the complainant over the dispute,” police spokesperson Sandeep Turan said.The four accused were produced before a court on Aug 28 and were sent to one-day police remand for further probe.
