Belagavi: A man, his wife, and their young daughter were killed on the spot, after their motorcycle was hit head-on by a truck on the Jamkhandi-Miraj state highway near Alakhanur village in Raibag taluk on Wednesday morning.The deceased are Gireppa Kundrali, 31, his wife Manjula, 27, and their daughter Aaradhya, 7.
According to police, the family was travelling from Miraj in Maharashtra towards Jamkhandi, when the accident occurred. The truck, coming from the opposite direction, collided with the 2-wheeler with great force, leaving no chance of survival for the riders.Harugeri police rushed to the spot soon after receiving information, and conducted an inspection. The bodies were shifted for postmortem, and a case was registered. Police said further investigation was under way to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
