Kanpur: Preparations intensified for the first phase of India’s Census-2027 — ‘House Listing and Housing Census.’A three-day training of 172 field trainers commenced at Naveen Sabhagar at Sarsaiya Ghat and the Collectorate meeting hall. District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh inaugurated the training. Census-2027 will be the country’s 16th and the 8th census after independence. More than 13,000 personnel will be deployed for census work in the district. The first phase of the census will be conducted from May 22 to June 20, while the second phase will be held in Feb 2027. Under the training programme, 172 field trainers are being trained in a total of 5 batches. The training session is being conducted by assistant director census and district in-charge Dinesh Kumar Yadav, statistics officer and assistant district in-charge Himanshu Shukla, DIET lecturer and master trainer Rahul Yadav, Anoop Patel, Azeezur Rahman, and assistant teacher and master trainer Saurav Yadav. On this occasion, Nagar Ayukt Arpit Upadhyay, additional district magistrate (finance and revenue) Vivek Chaturvedi, along with other officials, were present.
