Nagpur: The Crime Branch’s Social Security branch busted an interstate ganja supply network after seizing over 66kg of cannabis in two linked operations. In the first case, 24.2kg ganja was hidden in the loft of a Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) public Smart Toilet in Nandanvan.Acting on tip-off, Crime Branch searched the toilet complex between 10.30am and 1.20pm on Saturday and recovered the concealed cannabis. A case was registered at Nandanvan police station under NDPS Act.Police arrested Nilesh Ashok Dorse (26), a resident of Nandanvan, who had allegedly kept the ganja worth ₹6.05 lakh on the Smart Toilet before being distributed across the city.In a related operation at Kalamna, police intercepted a car and seized 42kg ganja. Five accused, Suraj Prakash Uike, Sumit Manoj Bhelave, Akshay Suryavanshi and Sajid Khan, all from Nagpur, and Akshay from Odisha are absconding, said police.Police Inspector Darshan Patil told TOI that Suryavanshi and Sajid brought the ganja from Odisha. “Once the consignment reached Nagpur, it was divided into smaller batches and dispatched across the city,” Patil said.
