Kanpur: Two people died and three others were injured after a speeding car rammed into a stationary truck from behind on the Bundelkhand Expressway around 9 am on Saturday. The accident occurred near Etaily outpost under Achhalda police station in Auraiya at kilometre 277.9.Police said five people were travelling in a car from Jhansi to attend an Urs being held in Bareilly. The impact of the rear-end collision was so severe that the front portion of the car was completely damaged.The victims were identified as Mohammad Jamal (50) and Shakeela Bano (62). Mohammad Firoz (45) was seriously injured and is undergoing treatment at Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences, Saifai. Rehana Bano (45) and Tahira Bano (8) suffered minor injuries.Police took both bodies into custody and sent them for postmortem.
