Varanasi: Rani Ki Sarai police in Azamgarh busted a gang of criminals who targeted youths seeking jobs abroad for smuggling drugs and other articles by arresting two members. The gang came on police radar after one of its victims lodged a complaint.Azamgarh SP Anil Kumar said that Sunil Yadav, a native of Shrinagar Siyarha village, lodged a complaint on Mar 14 at Rani Ki Sarai police station, alleging he was defrauded by some persons who lured him with promises of a job abroad. But they entrapped him in drug trafficking.After lodging an FIR, Rani Ki Sarai cops started investigation when the names of Sandeep Vishwakarma, Dr Faheem Khan, Aadil and Naseem Alam alias Bhonu came to light, officials said, mentioning that sections of the NDPS Act and Drugs and Cosmetics Act were also added in the case initially registered with relevant sections of BNS.On Sunday, a team led by sub-inspector Haidar Ali Mansuri raided Belaisa village and arrested two accused, including Dr Khan and Aadil of Mau. During interrogation, the duo divulged that they used to supply narcotic substances to Alam on the instructions of Vishwakarma. The narcotic substances were given to the foreign job seekers through Shambhu Yadav alias Shyam Yadav.Police said search for other accused is underway.
