Vadodara: A man who allegedly stabbed his wife in Ahmedabad a few days ago was arrested by the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) in Vadodara on Tuesday. The accused, identified as Faizan Sheikh (25), is also involved in a chain-snatching case.Police said they received a tip-off about a suspicious person moving around Bhutadizampa area. Acting on the information, a team intercepted Sheikh while he was riding a two-wheeler. When asked for the vehicle’s documents, he failed to provide a satisfactory response.During a search, police recovered a broken gold chain from his possession. On questioning, Sheikh confessed to stealing the two-wheeler a fortnight ago and using it to snatch a gold chain from a woman in the Akota area the next day.Investigations further revealed that Sheikh had allegedly stabbed his wife following a domestic dispute in Ahmedabad a week ago. An offence had already been registered against him at Vejalpur police station, and he was on the run.Police said Sheikh has a criminal history with over 19 offences registered against him, including theft, chain-snatching, attempt to murder and extortion.
