Police have registered a case against the car driver.Locals alleged that the ambulance reached the spot late, delaying medical assistance to the victims. They also pointed out that wrong-side driving is common on this stretch of NH-48, as motorists often avoid taking longer U-turns.NH-48 has emerged as an accident-prone corridor in recent years, being one of the busiest highways connecting southern and northern parts of the country. Police said bypass junctions witness frequent mishaps, as many commuters and locals attempt to cross the highway at these points.Traffic police have been conducting awareness drives on safe driving along the highway to curb such accidents.
