Varanasi: Maharajganj police in Azamgarh district arrested two youths on Wednesday for selling tractor-trolleys after hiring them from their owners. They divulged they had borrowed and lost huge amounts in online gaming and to clear the debt, indulged in this practice. Police recovered three trolleys sold by them.Azamgarh ASP (rural) Chirag Jain on Wednesday evening said four farmers of Naubarar, Dewara, and Jadeed Kita Pratham villages complained that Sunil Yadav hired their tractor-trolleys but did not return them. Later, they learnt that Sunil, along with Upendra Yadav, Ankul Yadav and Golu alias Sangam Maurya, sold the trolleys. When the farmers objected, the accused threatened to kill them.Lodging four separate cases, Maharajganj police arrested Sunil Yadav and Upendra Yadav from Govardhan Dhala area. On their information, three tractor-trolleys they sold were recovered from Nainijor and Pratappur villages under Raunapar police station limits.During questioning, the accused said they had incurred heavy debts while playing an online game. To repay loans, they hired tractor-trolleys from farmers for Rs 15,000 per month and sold them. Police produced both accused in court. Teams are raiding suspected hideouts to arrest absconding accused Ankul Yadav and Golu.
