Kanpur: Two suicides were reported within 24 hours from Gujaini and Naubasta police station areas in Kanpur, police said.In Gujaini police station area, Nisha Kumari (21), daughter of tanker driver Radheshyam and a resident of Mardanpur, allegedly died by suicide after being scolded by her mother over household work on Sunday night. Her brother Ramkumar said Nisha had completed her BSc and was staying at home. Around 8 pm on Sunday, her mother scolded her over household chores, following which an argument broke out. Nisha then left, saying she would sleep in another room.Around 9 am on Monday, when she did not come out of the room, family members knocked on the door. They later broke into the room and found her hanging. Police reached the spot, conducted an inspection and sent the body for postmortem.Similarly, in Budhpur Machhariya under Naubasta police station, a 13-year-old girl Aradhya Mishra, a Class 8 student of Shemrock School, allegedly hanged herself inside her house.Her father, Vijay Mishra, works in a biscuit factory. The family comprises his wife Sonam, son Dev, and Aradhya.According to family members, they had gone to Maksudabad on Sunday afternoon to visit a relative, leaving Aradhya alone at home. When they returned late at night, the main door did not open for a long time. After somehow entering the house, they found Aradhya hanging.Police said both cases are being investigated from all angles, and further legal action will be taken based on the findings.
