Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Sunday arrested two brothers identified as Dinesh Pasi and Vikas Pasi, residents of Maheva Mohanpur on the charges of reckless driving and performing dangerous stunts on Purnemau-Beti route. Police said, “On August 27, a group of youths including Vikas Pasi on the occasion of his brother Akash Pasi’s birthday engaged in reckless and dangerous stunt driving on Purnemau-Beti route under the limits of Hathgawan police station”. They blocked the road using their SUV and several two-wheelers. A video showing Akash Pasi and Vikas Pasi standing on the roof of the car while filming a reel was circulated on the social media platform . Following the incident, an FIR was registered at Hathigawan police station under sections 281, 125, 292, and 3(5) of the BNS against Akash Pasi, Vikas Pasi along with the unidentified driver of the SUV and several other unidentified two-wheeler riders, for endangering the safety of passersby and obstructing traffic.Meanwhile, Pratapgarh cops appealed citizens not to engage in dangerous activities—such as performing stunts, reckless driving, or obstructing traffic—merely for the sake of social media reels, likes, or comments. Cops also warned strict action, in accordance with the law, against traffic violations and any acts that put lives at risk.
