Kanpur: A 15-year-old student died by suicide in Kalyanpur area of the city amid alleged study-related stress.Family members took him to hospital, where doctors declared him dead. On receiving information, police and a forensic team reached the spot, inspected the scene, and collected evidence. The boy was a high school student at a school in Kalyanpur.On Saturday morning, he refused to go to school, saying he would stay home and complete school work. After that, his father left for office. In the afternoon, the boywent to his room saying he was going to study, while his mother and younger brother were downstairs. In the late evening, when his mother went to call him, she found her son and shouted. Hearing the noise, neighbours also reached the spot and immediately took the student to the hospital, but by then he had died.The mother said that the boy did remain troubled over studies, but it never seemed that he would take such a big step.In-charge Kalyanpur police station Keshav Kumar Tiwari said the family had been questioned. “At present, no allegation of any kind has come to light. Prima facie, the matter appears to be related to study stress. Further action will be taken on the basis of the postmortem report and other facts.”
