New Delhi: Mahindra University conferred degrees on 1,309 graduates, including 22 PhD scholars, at its fifth annual convocation held at its Hyderabad campus on Tuesday. The university also honoured 29 students with gold medals for outstanding academic performance and inaugurated the Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) Centre to strengthen industry-integrated learning.
The convocation was attended by Anand Mahindra, Chancellor of Mahindra University; Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, who was the chief guest; and Pradeep K. Khosla, Chancellor of the University of California, San Diego, who attended as guest of honour. The newly inaugurated BEST Centre is aimed at enhancing practical engineering skills and industry readiness among students.
Addressing the graduating class, Anand Mahindra said students entering a rapidly changing world would need adaptability and a strong sense of purpose to navigate future challenges. Rajiv Bajaj urged graduates to focus on continuous learning, discipline and quality, noting that the ability to adapt quickly would be more valuable than accumulated knowledge.
Vice-Chancellor Yajulu Medury said the university would continue expanding its research capabilities, interdisciplinary education and industry engagement to prepare graduates for global careers while contributing to national priorities.
The graduating cohort included 827 students from the Ecole Centrale School of Engineering, 380 from the School of Management, 73 from the School of Law, 20 from the School of Education and nine from the School of Media, taking the total number of graduates to 1,309.
