COIMBATORE: As many as 104 students secured job offers during an on-campus placement drive held at the Government Arts and Science College for Women (GASCW) in Puliakulam here on Tuesday.The placement drive, conducted between 9.30am and 3.30pm, saw participation of more than 200 students from disciplines including Tamil, English, mathematics, commerce and computer science. Recruiters such as Nalanda Schools (ICSE, CBSE, Matric), Bright Stars Language Training Industry, Fornax Pvt Ltd., Monvex Cred Tech and Flipkart (Pappampatti) took part in the hiring process.Students actively participated in various rounds of screening and interviews, leading to 104 candidates being shortlisted and issued appointment orders.The event was organised under the guidance of Dr Anusmitha Sebastian, principal in-charge of the college. Outgoing batch students also participated in the drive, enhancing overall placement outcomes.Calling it a significant milestone, Dr Anusmitha said this was the first-ever on-campus placement drive conducted by the institution since its establishment in 2020. She added that the college had earlier facilitated three off-campus drives.“This initiative has created a strong platform for women students to begin their careers. In the coming years, we aim to expand such opportunities to ensure that every student secures employment through campus placements,” she said.
