Police on Tuesday seized 100 packets of cannabis and two improvised semi-automatic pistols from a Jharkhand-registered vehicle that caught fire on NH-16 at Nimdighi in Uluberia. The driver fled. Police said the vehicle, heading towards Kolkata from Kolaghata, had a fake number plate attached over the original one.
