Churachandpur: A joint administrative and law enforcement drive was conducted on Friday to eradicate illicit poppy cultivation in K Bungsang village under the Samulamlan sub-division in Churachandpur district.The operation, led by the executive magistrate of Samulamlan, destroyed approximately 10 acres of poppy crop with an estimated potential yield of 50kg of opium.
The joint team, comprising district police, CRPF, forest department, narcotics and affairs of border (NAB), and 1st IRB personnel, carried out the destruction drive peacefully, with no untoward incidents reported. Necessary legal action is being taken.
