Udupi: Traffic signal equipment worth about Rs 8 lakh, stored near Udupi’s Kalyan Jewellers junction for nearly three years after a signal installation project was delayed, has reportedly been stolen.According to a complaint by Srinivasa Yeluri, AVP (operations), ACS Technology Ltd, Hyderabad, the equipment was brought to the site on July 18, 2023. The project, however, could not proceed due to delays and objections from Udupi City Municipality officials.When company representatives inspected the site on Aug 22 this year, the equipment was found missing.Udupi Town police have registered a case under Section 303(2) of BNS and investigation is under way.
