Hyderabad: In the ongoing investigation into the alleged fake government orders (GOs) conspiracy to grab land, Narsingi police on Friday arrested former YSR Congress Party MLA Bolla Brahma Naidu in Tamil Nadu.Police sources said that after a case was registered and several accused were arrested, Brahma Naidu approached Telangana high court seeking anticipatory bail.“But it was rejected by court after considering the evidence, seriousness of offence and the fact the case is still under investigation,” a Cyberabad cop said.Once it became clear that Brahma Naidu was on the run, police tracked his movements to Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu. With the assistance of local police, he was taken into custody and shifted to Shiva Kanchi police station.“Brahma Naidu is being brought to Hyderabad as per procedure,” a cop said.So far, six persons have been arrested in connection with the conspiracy.Investigators believe Naidu’s custodial interrogation will shed further light on the network behind the forged GOs and the extent of the alleged land grab. The conspiracy revolves around attempts to illegally regularise govt land in Gandipet through forged GOs. Police allege that members of the Nimmala family in Gandipet, with the support of agent Ramakrishna and others, conspired with Brahma Naidu to take over 10 acres of prime land. After the family lost a claim in the high court, they allegedly turned to Brahma Naidu and his associates to fabricate documents that would back their ownership.According to investigators, Brahma Naidu had even entered into an agreement with the family to purchase the property. During these transactions, fake GOs were allegedly created to strengthen the claim, and Brahma Naidu is said to have paid Rs 12 crore to various accused.Revenue officials, upon discovering the irregularities, lodged a complaint at Narsingi police station, setting off the probe.
