The Indiana Fever bounced back from consecutive losses to the expansion franchises, the Valkyries and Portland Fire, with an impressive 83-71 victory over the Atlanta Dream.

While Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 25 points, the Fever also received a crucial boost from Caitlin Clark.
Bouncing back from a difficult outing against the Portland Fire, where she was limited to single-digit scoring, the Fever guard finished with 17 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and a block in a well-rounded performance.
Caitlin Clark battled mid-game illness
What made Clark’s performance even more impressive was that she battled through an illness during the game. Despite feeling unwell, the Fever star delivered a strong all-around showing and played a key role in Indiana’s victory over the Atlanta Dream.
It was reported that Caitlin Clark vomited around halftime after the second quarter of Indiana’s game against the Atlanta Dream. However, the illness did little to keep her off the floor, as she returned and logged a total of 31 minutes in the entire game.
Although the incident could raise some concerns about Clark’s condition with the Fever set to face the defending champion New York Liberty on Saturday, there appears to be little reason for alarm.
Fever star explains her health status
Clark’s ability to return to the game, play 31 minutes, and remain productive suggests the episode was not serious enough to affect her availability moving forward.
Moreover, Clark addressed the halftime incident herself after the game, and her remarks appeared to ease any lingering concerns.
Covering her mouth, she said, “I haven’t puked that much in a really long time,” She then added, “But then I felt fine. I felt light. So, I was running around feeling good in the second half, but [I] feel OK.”
The 24-year-old also reassured everyone about her condition, explaining that although she sounded a bit hoarse and her voice was fading at the time, she expected to be fine. “Obviously, I’m losing my voice a little bit. But I’ll be good,” she explained.
